So What's Falling All About??
Good, obedient, smart Macie Obejrzane has lived in the same tiny NJ town her entire life. Everyone she knows goes to the same church every Sunday, all of her friends attend the same Catholic school, and met her first serious boyfriend back when they were both in diapers. Life is so boring and predictable, she feels like she’s slowly suffocating. Until life delivers Elijah Strazar right into her lap and her entire world turns on its axis. Mohawked, tattooed and mysterious, Elijah looks like trouble, and, intrigued as she is, Macie decides she wants no part of him.
But they have an undeniable chemistry, and his electrifying touches quickly turn to electrifying kisses and then one lightning bolt of a confession; Elijah is no typical teenage guy.
He’s a Nephilim, an ancient race of angel-human hybrids rumored to be cursed by God. In case she needs proof, Elijah sprouts wings right in front of Macie’s eyes in the middle of her dusty little hometown church, and later takes her on an insanely scary, incredibly fast flight. To make the entire situation even more complicated, Elijah was led to Macie by some kind of vision that neither of them completely understand.
Macie has no idea what to do with Elijah‘s revelations, but she doesn’t get any time to process what she sees and hears. Elijah is on the run from a band of NeoGrigori, angel Watchers who are bent on wiping the Nephilim out for reasons Macie doesn’t fully understand. As she and Elijah tumble through one mystery after another, Macie discovers that she is a Lion of God, one of the humans put on Earth to protect Nephilim. She and Elijah are bonded by identical birthmarks on their arms.
Just when she gets used to this, Elijah forms a second theory about her; Macie might just be a powerful protector angel, a Potentate. All the signs are proving him right, and Macie just wants to go back to worrying about who she’s going to take to the Winter Formal and how she’s going to make it through Immaculate Conception High School.But Macie’s life as she knew it is over.
She’s been chosen for a Divine Purpose, she’s falling head over heels in love with a sexy half-human/half-angel, and she has to figure out how to keep the people she loves safe from an all out angel war that’s landing on her doorstep. The NeoGrigori might claim to be angels, but Macie has never encountered more blood thirsty creatures, and she’s going to have to figure out how to get rid of them before they destroy everything she loves in their pursuit of hatred.
